Sitting in the airport now reading this. While my trip last week wasn't as bad as yours it was one minor snafu after another. Your story put a smile on my face. Nice story about unsung people who are overlooked everyday.

Keep posting. Your stories are great.

Thanks for a fun story about a stressful “adventure”, alleviated by gentle treatment by service people. At about the same time, I was reading posts by two flyers attempting to fly to Newark. In fact, you might have crossed paths with the excellent economics journalist, Kyla Scanlon, whose attempted flight from the West Coast to NYC ended with a train ride from DC to NYC.

This is so great and is why I subscribe to your page... People forget that sometimes the mundane is what makes life so special. People need to sometimes just slow down... look around.. and order a stack and some crispy bacon and pass on the Avocado Toast!!!

Great story to start the early morning hours. Pancakes, mmmm. I don't find good ones at any restaurants I've tried in recent memory. I will give Denny's another try.

Happy to hear you made it home in good condition after more torturous air travel. King City, I know that one. Spent some time there years ago early in my career. Your story is making me hungry for some flappers. Enjoyed your story. Thanks.

Wow! What a day! An amazing journey, for sure! And, how great, that at the end of it all, you were able to have an experience at a Denny's that put it all back into perspective for you. So glad you made it home safe & sound. Thanks for the story!

I have always liked breakfast at Dennys. Sadly a lot have closed up here in the desert. Glad you got home eventually.

It's been a long time since I had travel delays like you've just had, but we headed to Newark next week, from SNA, so hoping for the best! Had to laugh that you had such high praise for Dennys! There's a brand who has seen better days. But it's all about the people, and sounds like you hit the jackpot there! Learned a lesson, and got home safely. # Thankful is my motto.
