American Airlines is genius. Oh, that and this: Yes, leave Taylor and Trav alone, listen to music, watch football. Enjoy. Repeat.

Thanks Jane. Not many writers provide me with the “sticky” journalism I think about for weeks (months?) after reading. Just plain Thanks!❤️

A judge gets to decide that the shareholders have a goose(Musk) who requires no food(salary) and lays nothing but golden eggs(earnings$$$$$$) and has made goose farmers as rich as oil and cattle barons? If Musk is not entitled to his billions are shareholders going to be required to give back some or all of their 700% profit? It's Capitalism. Come on man.............

I love and read you as you never fail to make me laugh and/or cuss for with your wit and insight ("...housing a prisoner in the Golden State now costs nearly $133,000 a year, twice as much as the cost of attending USC.")

Please run for President. Right now.

Great column. I saw your note on the cost to maintain a prisoner in a California prison. This note added fuel to my thoughts that with all the crime going on in California and relaxed laws lowering penalties I am beginning to think California can't afford to enforce all these laws they create. Think about it. It costs a lot of money to enforce the law. You have to hire police, judges, pay lawyers (public defenders), pay prison guards, pay for prison, , etc. I don't know maybe California should quit spending money on illegals healthcare and slavery compensation and start funding things that keep our society civil.

The serpent pen of Jane Wells entertaining as always. But...

"Anywho" is correctly spelled "anyhoo," - at least according to the two (count 'em) dictionaries I consulted. However... kudos on using this very swell word.

Walmart managers - a good story from the store that we used to hate for crushing so many mom-and-pop retailers. Now that Walmart has Amazon and others for company, we don't care so much, eh? -- suggestion: do something on WINCO, the west-coast employee-owned grocery. Much loved in this household.

Oy vey, Taylor Swift. Sheesh! She's become a political, er, football! And right-wingers are entertaining us doubly with their conspiracies. She has a nice voice, but as much as I listen to song after song, I can't hum any of her tunes. She's cute, though.

Stanley cups. Astounding. Just astounding. True, I am prejudiced by my preference for re-used plastic water bottles. The heavier ones used for selling juice or heavy cream are even better.

Forbes, Trump, Carroll and their tax bills. How many times did you use "may" in this segment? Food for thought, though, even if food prices remain stubbornly high.

Well done Walmart on the stock split. Now, how can we get McDonalds to split their stock! $400 per share is ridiculous! Why do companies do this? Back in the day, most companies worked to keep the stock price within reach of the public investor. Now, CEOs seem to like showing off their 3-digit stock price.

It’s also part of the dumb way the Dow Jones Industrial Average weights the importance of the 30 companies in it. The higher your share price, the more weight you have in the Dow’s daily move. Walmart just made itself less important in the DJIA, less valuable than McDonald’s, even though it has almost twice the market cap of MCD. Makes no sense.
